Mar 22, 2006. /Lesprom Network/. Representatives of 12 Swedish companies took part in a workshop New Technologies in Pulp and Paper Production, on March 21, 2006 in the southeastern Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro, with the aim to exchange experience with Brazilian pulp and paper producers, according to Invertia.
The workshop was organized by Brazilian Pulp and Paper Technical Association (ABTCP). The Swedish entrepreneurs will also participate in similar workshops in Uruguayan capital Montevideo, Argentina's Buenos Aires and in Chile.
At present, Sweden is the third largest pulp and paper exporter worldwide.
The main pulp and paper investments in Brazil are focused in the states of Sao Paulo and Parana, but pulp and paper production is developed in other states as well. For example, the Finnish integrated packaging and forest products company Stora Enso has launched a plant in the northeastern Bahia state in 2005.
