Taylor Brothers Lumber Company in Lynchburg, VA, USA, reopened under new ownership, rehiring about 25 of the 32 people who worked there before it closed last month, WSLS reported. The Lester Group, a building supply firm based in Martinsville, purchased the company during the bankruptcy proceedings of Roper Brothers Lumber Company, former owner of Taylor Brothers. Executive Vice President Brandt Mitchell said the company was attracted to Taylor Brothers because it services small, independent builders, the same type of customer that The Lester Group serves.
