U.S. industry consumption of recovered paper down 8% in September

Year-to-date total consumption in 2012 is 4% lower than during the same period last year, as the American Forest & Paper Association said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.
U.S. exports of recovered paper, as reported by the U.S. Census Bureau, decreased 4% in August compared to July, led by a drop in mixed papers exports which fell after a very strong July. Year-to-date exports of recovered paper in 2012 are 6.5% lower than during the same period in 2011.
The American Forest & Paper Association is the national trade association of the forest products industry, representing pulp, paper, packaging and wood products manufacturers, and forest landowners.
