Mar 16, 2004. /Lesprom Network/. Russian Ust-Ilimsky timber enterprise (Irkutsk region, owned by Ilim Pulp) started hardwood pulp production, Ilim Pulp public-affairs told Lesprom.ru. The new trend will allow to diversify the usage of the raw timber supplied from own forestries. From March, 12-27 one of Ust-Ilimsky production lines started bleached sulfate hardwood pulp production. For the first time the enterprise used special dispergator tar solvent which allows to boost production quality. According to the enterprise first deputy-CEO Alexander Razmakhin, ‘hardwood pulp production allows to diversify the usage of the raw timber supplied from own forestries. We’ve done all the necessary preparations and we hope that the quality will meet the demands of our customers.’ Ilim Pulp Enterprise (Saint-Petersburg) is one of the world’s top ten commodity pulp manufacturers and forestry owners. The company comprises the largest pulp and paper enterprises: Kotlassky pulp and paper enterprise, Bratsky timber enterprise, Ust-Ilimsky timber enterprise, Saint-Petersburg enterprise and 38 other timber enterprises. Besides the company owns transport and trade organizations Kommunar and Plzenska Papirna paper mills, Ilim Gofropack corrugated tare mill.
