Wage growth 'high in Estonian forestry'

According to figures from Statistics Estonia, wage growth slowed in the 2Q 2008, but forestry workers retained some of the highest salary increases, KMS Baltics has reported.
Hourly gross wages in forestry saw increases of 41.8% since the 2Q 2007, followed by fishing and hospitality which saw rises of 40.7% and 23.7% respectively.
BBN quotes that average salaries were EEK 12,769 ($1 196) in April, EEK 12,968 ($1 214) in May and EEK 14,160 ($1326) in June, the statistical office found. Figures for the survey were derived from information provided by 11,089 organisations, enterprises and institutions.
