Ahlstrom plans to transfer its information technology operations to Tech Mahindra Ltd., a specialist in digital transformation, consulting and business re-engineering. The parties have signed an agreement regarding the services to be operated by Tech Mahindra. As a consequence, approximately 50 Ahlstrom IT employees globally are planned to move to Tech Mahindra under a business transfer agreement. The planned transfer is expected to take place on December 1, 2014, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

After that, the transferring employees will initially continue to work from their current locations in their current roles and tasks. The business transfer is subject to country-specific conditions.

Kristiina Lammila, Vice President, Information Solutions, comments on the agreement: "This partnership marks a new phase in the management of our IT services. The arrangement will allow us to build a renewed and more harmonized IT portfolio at a lower cost. In addition, it provides interesting career and professional development opportunities for the people being retained at Ahlstrom and for those being transferred to our partner."

Ahlstrom will retain an IT organization of about 15 employees.

The planned reorganization is part of the ongoing rightsizing program aimed at saving a total of Euro 39 million annually in continuing operations by the end of 2015.
