Mar 17, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. Technology Group Andritz was selected by Procter & Gamble Deutschland, manufacturer of sanitary papers, to upgrade the dry end of a tissue machine at its Neuss, Germany mill.
This is the third contract with Andritz for a machine modernization at Neuss within a year. In June 2004, Andritz completed a very successful upgrade of a tissue machine at the mill. "A customer who is happy with a supplier continues to place orders with that supplier,” says Dr. Conrads, Procter & Gamble’s Purchasing Manager for Europe.
The scope of the most recent order for Andritz comprises a new dust removal and web stabilization system between the creping doctor and reel. The goals of the upgrade are to minimize dusting problems on the machine and in the hall, and to improve the sheet run for high-speed operation. The installation of the new dust removal and web stabilizing components is a special challenge, due to the tight space at the tissue machine. A very short delivery time of four months is foreseen.
In the summer of 2004, Procter & Gamble also ordered a safety package for a tissue machine reel. Only eight days are scheduled for both modernization projects, which are planned to take place in May 2005.
