Brazilian Sudati opens MDF plant

The $80 million factory in Santa Carina is designed to serve the domestic market and in particular the furniture manufacturing sector. Estimated annual volume is 220 thousand cubic metres.
Sudati has existing plants in the state of Parana focused on plywood production for the export market, with an annual capacity of 500 thousand cubic metres – making it the largest Brazilian plywood manufacturer.
The new MDF plant will increase group pine log consumption from 650 thousand tons to one million tones. Currently, a 2750x1250mm raw product is being made, but a light and extra light board will be produced in the near future.
