Dec 02, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. Canadian lumber production rebounded modestly in September, after two months of declines, to reach its highest level since April. At 1.9 billion board feet in September, production was up 4% from August and up 11% from September 2009, as Random Lengths reported. Production through three quarters reached 16.6 billion board feet, 19% ahead of the year-earlier pace. September production in British Columbia hit 980 million board feet, up 4% from August but down from a July peak. At 8.6 billion board feet, B.C. was 20% ahead of the 2009 pace. In Eastern Canada, Ontario stood out as lagging the year-earlier pace by 3%, and Nova Scotia was 68% ahead of the 2009 level, although both provinces combined for just 1.3 billion board feet of production through three quarters.
