Cham Paper Group announce unavoidable price increases

Mar 04, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. The cost situation for the paper Industry has deteriorated continuously since the beginning of 2004 and only insignificant compensation in the form of price increases was obtained in 2004. The Paper Industry has serious cause for concern in virtually all cost areas: Energy, Raw materials and Transport. Fibre based materials have endeavoured for many months to weather the storm whilst other, more directly oil-based related, materials have imposed increases of more than 50% in less than a year. The current state of profitability and no sign of improvement in future months now make the current situation untenable. Cham Paper Group, therefore, is obliged to advise the market of substantial price increases (according to grade and invoiced currency) effective on despatches from 01.04.2005
