Oct 22, 2010. /Lesprom Network/. Sales of Estonian timber have risen substantially in the last nine months, according to figures from the Estonian State Forest Management Centre. The data shows that sales revenue for the first three quarters of 2010 was EEK1.3 billion ($115 million). This is a 46% increase on the same period in 2009, the Baltic Course reported. Net profits from timber sales were EEK296 million ($26.2 million) - a six-fold rise on last years profits of EEK47 million ($4.2 million). Forest material and hacked timber generated the majority of the earnings. A total of 2 million cubic metres were sold for EEK1.26 billion ($112 million). Average sales prices reached EEK607 ($53.7) per cubic metre - a year-on-year rise of 24%.
