Aug 21, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Workers will return to their jobs at Fraser Papers mill in Edmunston, New Brunswick on Monday, ForestTalk reported. After the unionized workers voted to accept concessions to save their mill and jobs, pulp will once again be produced at the mill. 50 maintenance workers were back this week to prepare the sulphite pulp mill for reopening. Approximately 150 workers will return to work on Monday and the mill should be producing pulp by the end of the week at 60% capacity. The workers accepted a 10% wage cut, which included dropping the 6% raise that was scheduled, in order to make the mill affordable. Fraser Papers is currently under bankruptcy protection and has until October 16th to restructure.
