Jun 28, 2005. /Lesprom Network/. “Russia remains an important part of International Paper’s plans for growth beyond North America,” - International Paper CEO John Faraci has told Lesprom.ru after meeting with president Putin in Saint Petersburg.
“Although doing business in Russia is complex, we have the experience to successfully navigate in that region. Our paper mill in Svetogorsk is the largest supplier of cut-size paper to the growing Russian market. We are currently implementing a $50 million project to increase value-added production capacity at that facility, and expect to proceed with a pulp mill project that will use aspen fiber. We are also considering additional paper, packaging and forestry investments in Russia to supply the Russian market as well as export markets,” - said J.Faraci
