Dec 24, 2014. /Lesprom Network/. The Port of Tilbury announces a new agreement with
L&G Forest Products to create a 70,000 sq.ft. timber hub at the port
serving the Grafton Group and others throughout England, as the company said in the press release
received by Lesprom Network.
L&G,
who are part of the Grafton Group which owns the Buildbase depots in the UK, have chosen Tilbury to consolidate
their timber distribution alongside their panel products operation. They have
taken advantage of Tilbury’s unique Portcentric service which will increase
operational efficiency and ultimately save cost throughout the supply chain.
The
increase in demand from Buildbase has promoted the move to create a bespoken
timber hub where product is shipped in, stored at the port and then distributed
around the country.
