Apr 23, 2007. /Lesprom Network/. Finnish Poyry has acquired majority interest in Guiprobum-Engineering (St Petersburg, Russia, leading design institute for pulp-and-paper industry), Guiprobum-Engineering reported.
The sum of the deal isn’t disclosed. Under the terms of agreement, Poyry receives majority interest in Guiprobum-Engineering and includes it in its world net. Guiprobum-Engineering will keep blocking minority ownership. The companies decided to join efforts for the work at developing Russian market for pulp-and-paper, wood-processing industries, energy and infrastructure projects.
According to the statement, merger of brands and strong points of the participants will allow united company establishing itself as a leader at developing Russian market and enlarging market share of engineering services. Under the terms of agreement, Poyry will invest in training of Guiprobum-Engineering staff in modern methods of engineering necessary for the work in the net, in equipment and software. The shareholders agreed to keep complexity of services of united company.
