Oct 19, 2004. /Lesprom Network/. Russian Nemansky pulp and paper enterprise (Kaliningrad region, owned by North-West Timber Industry Company) started the production of waterproof package paper, NWTIC spokesperson told Lesprom.ru. Waterproof paper was designed by Nemansky experts and is similar to waterproof paper produced by European manufacturers. The first test lot of package paper has the density of 90 and 100 gr/sq m. The high-quality paper may be used for the production of bags and multicolor print on the surface that gives an attractive look to the package. When designing the new type of paper the researchers took into consideration the demands of NWTIC clients who suggested that the company should diversify the variety of market production. Waterproof package paper is made of 100% bleached pulp and is meant for the package of dry food (flour, cereals, tea, sugar), as well as for the food with humidity up to 70% and fat up too 2% (sugar, confectionery). The tests of the bags produced of waterproof paper show that the package material is resistant to dropping, piercing and moisture. ‘Before launching the product to the market NWTIC held a number of negotiations and we have a number of orders for the future’ NWTIC commercial director Vadim Kharitonov said. The new type of package paper produced by NWTIC will be presented during PapFor-2004 exhibition.
