Apr 03, 2015. /Lesprom Network/.  At Setra Malå the investment involves upgrading the trimmer and includes a camera for automated sorting and a new control system. At Setra Färila the investment includes a saw line and sawing equipment. This will result in a higher yield due to thinner cuts and more precise measurement of goods produced. Both investments are scheduled to take place in autumn 2015, as the company said in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

“Both Malå and Färila are units within Setra that have been conducting successful improvement work for several years. The organisations are now ready to take the next step and with the help of these investments they will be able to shift into a higher gear for enhanced competitiveness,” says Jonas Björnståhl, Head of the Sawn Wood Products business area.

Setra Group has a total of nine sawmills, three processing units and two modular building factories. Setra Malå is a redwood sawmill with integrated processing. The number of employees is approximately 80 and production volume in 2014 totalled 174,000 cubic metres. Setra Färila is a whitewood sawmill with 55 employees and production in 2014 of 151,000 cubic metres of sawn product.
