One of the specialists for control systems within the Siempelkamp Group, Herford-base ferrocontrol GmbH & Co., was sold to the Wiesbaden company Eckelmann AG on 1 April 2006. Given the Siempelkamp group’s focus on machine manufacturing in highly specialized segments, ferrocontrol no longer fitted in the product portfolio. In addition, it was considered desirable to support ferrocontrol’s opportunities for growth by making the most of the synergy effects offered by joining with a suitable partner. Eckelmann AG was therefore felt to be the ideal takeover partner since ferrocontrol’s product portfolio and customer structure provide a highly advantageous supplement to the products and services offered by Eckelmann AG. This outstanding win-win situation will be presented for the first time to visitors of this year’s Hanover Trade Fair. Business relationships between ferrocontrol and the Siempelkamp group in relation to services will continue unchanged.
