The Hamilton-based paper manufacturer said it expects to complete the deal April 21, according to the story. It did not disclose a purchase price. Smart Papers is majority owned by Plainfield Special Situations Master Fund Limited, a hedge fund group based in Connecticut. Manufacturers of premium, coated and uncoated writing, text and cover grade papers, from recycled fibers and waste paper. Domtar, headquartered in Montreal, is specialty and premium paper manufacturer.
