Feb 10, 2004. /Lesprom Network/. Eucalyptus pulp manufacturers revealed their plans to increase prices in February. However, in spite of softwood pulp prices growth, the prices on hardwood are unlikely to go up. Various pulp suppliers reported eucalyptus raw timber prices at $30 per ton to $520 per ton. The steps followed after price drop in January. However the price increase coincided with the constant reports of eucalyptus market satiation. Bleached softwood craft-pulp prices started to rise, several deals with $590 per ton price have already been signed. Chinese consumers are still rather active and the suppliers expect to direct the non-sold volume of pulp in case European customers fail to buy the pulp at a high price.
