Swedish Forest Agency: Sawlog prices decreased by 6% in 2013
Swedish sawlog prices decreased by 6% in 2013 compared to 2012. The fall in prices were relatively even between region South, Middle and North and between the tree species pine and spruce.

in prices were relatively even between region South, Middle and North and
between the tree species pine and spruce, as Swedish Forest Agency said in the
press release received by Lesprom Network.
Pulpwood prices decreased by 8% during 2013. The biggest fall was in
region South and Middle, with 8% and 9% respectively.
Between the 4Q and 3Q 2013 sawlog prices rose, particular in North and
South regions. Prices of pulpwood were unchanged with the exception of pulpwood
of birch which fell by 6%.
Statistics for the 4Q 2013 shows a small increase in prices compared to
previous quarter, but annual prices for 2013 decreased compared to 2012.
