Dec 03, 2008. /Lesprom.com/. Swedish wood products group Rorvik Timber AB announced that it has decided to further reduce production in response to the weakening building markets in Europe and the US.
The company earlier announced that it will temporarily halt production at its seven timber mills from 19 December to 12 January, but the company has now decided to further reduce its production by reducing working shifts at its mills in Boxholm and Tvarskog. The cuts will affect a total of 54 employees.
The measures will reduce Rorvik Timber's annual production by 15%, or 135,000 cubic metres of sawn wood products.
Rorvik Timber, headquartered in Huskvarna, Sweden, manufactures mainly wood products for the construction industry.
