Uniboard's MDF facility now at 96% completion

Nov 18, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. With only a few short weeks to go, Uniboard's newest mill in Moncure, North Carolina will be ready for production. The facility, now at 96% completion and undergoing commissioning, is set to be unveiled within the projection of startup in 4Q, the company said in a press release received by Lesprom Network.
"With finishing touches being put to the Monure plant, we anxiously await the start-up of our new facility," says James Hogg, CEO of Uniboard. "Our targets have been matched to begin manufacturing so we may better service our US customers. As a centerpiece in the Moncure operations, the new plant is equipped to produce MDF and HDF unmatched by any competitor in the marketplace."
Uniboard is a leading North American manufacturer of engineered wood products, with installed capacity of over 900 million square feet of raw particleboard, high density and medium density fiber board, of which over 50% is converted into value added melamine and Pergo laminated flooring products. Its products are sold to retailers, distributors and finished goods manufacturers, which cater to the kitchen cabinet industry, the furniture industry, the renovation and construction industries, as well as to the floor covering industry. Uniboard is the largest supplier of thermofused melamine panels in North America.
