According to Martti Airisto, managing director of Finnish Foex Indexes, the price of pulp has risen mainly due to mill output decisions in Canada. Demand for pulp has also increased due to the rising demand for office and tissue papers. Erkki Varis, CEO of Finnish Metsä-Botnia, says the growth development in China has a significant impact on pulp prices.
