Recently, European paper packaging production facilities (Arka Merchants Ltd. Holding Company) of Segezha Group (part of Sistema JSFC) received a certificate of compliance with the requirements of FSC (FSC-C018056) international certification. Three production facilities located in Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands were certified through multi-site certification earlier in December 2019.
“The decisions to certify our production plants in Europe corresponds to the corporate commitment of Segezha Group to responsible forest management, including full control over the entire technological cycle, as well as the result of the constantly growing consumer demands on the European market and overseas,” said Rinat Stark, CEO Segezha Packaging. “The multi-site certification approach enables us to extend the certification to other production facilities of Segezha Packaging in Europe. As of today, our plants in Denmark, Germany and The Netherlands successfully completed the audit. Our production facility in Italy has had the valid FSC Certificate for several years already.”
The assessment of compliance with the standards was carried out by BM Trada, an independent certification body.
Certification according to the FSC ® ‘Chain of Custody’ system guarantees the use of the legally produced wood in the production processes, sustainable forest management including maintenance of the forest biological diversity and social responsibility initiatives. The company’s control system allows monitoring the entire technological cycle of wood processing, from the harvesting operations to the delivery of certified products.
