Builder sentiment was flat in April as mortgage rates remained close to 7% over the past month and the latest inflation data failed to show improvement during the Q1 2024.

Over the first eleven months of 2023, the total number of U.S. single-family permits issued year-to-date (YTD) nationwide reached 843,654. On a year-over-year (YoY) basis, this is 8.5% below the November 2022 level of 921,626.

Total existing home sales, including single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums, and co-ops rose 0.8% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 3.82 million in November.
