It has been disclosed that about 400 thousand cub m of hardwood are stored no particular purpose on Ust-Ilimsky timber mill site with .
After the certification is carried out Ilim Pulp intends to boost timber production from 11 million cub m/yr to 14,7 million cub m/yr by 2007. The company is presently working to diminish the impact of season prevalence factor. Water transportation was cut 5 times in Kotlas, for instance.
Russia should launch certification as timber industry powerful marketing communication means, Finnish timber industry association vice-president Pertti Leine said. National forestry program-2010 has been designed in Finland to monitor the origin of timber imported from Russia - 85% of the country’s timber imports are from Russia. Russia should develop paper recycling facilities, he said. Recycled paper production in Finland was 72% compared with average 50% in other countries.
