May 14, 2009. /Lesprom Network/. Ust-Ilimsk branch (Russia, Irkutsk region) of Ilim Group rebuilt equipment - at chip production shafts and discs were changed in chip screening machines Rader. This project cost is $1.3 million and is the first stage of a Program to improve chip production, the company said in a statement received by Lesprom Network.
Chip screening machines are necessary to prevent ingress of foreign objects and oversize chips that could cause breakdowns. The system is equipped with 3 stages of screening.
In December 2008 shafts and discs were changed in the first stage and rated capacity was reached - 9.6 thousand dense cubic metres of chip a day. Altogether 96 shafts and discs were changed which enabled the equipment to exceed its original rated capacity and reached 10 thousand dense cubic metres of chip a day.
The second stage of the Program to change shafts and discs in second stage of the machines will be carried out until the end of 2009 year. The expected result of this project is to increase output of conditioned chip to 10 thousand cubic metres per day.
